My rating: 3 of 5 stars
this is the second in the millennium trilogy by steig larsson. as i said before, i almost bypassed the whole series because of the title and the cover artwork but was pleasantly surprised when i actually gave it a shot... just a few pages into the first book, girl with the dragon tattoo, and i was hooked.
the girl who played with fire didn't have me on the edge of my seat like the first book did. i think the story was bogged down with too much detail. i have a hard enough time following all of the swedish names (odd arrangements of consonants and vowels!) and places... and this one was way more of a police detective book than the first. i don't like police drama... not a bit.
so maybe it's just me but i'm hoping the third book gets back to the basics of a good mystery novel... and loses all the badges.
